Decisions... Decisions

Mermaid Ruby is one of my best underwater models.
Check out her portfolio here.
As mentioned earlier, Mermaid Ruby and I are
working on a fine-art project which centers around a Sea Siren and her
underwater sanctuary... a sunken 28 foot cabin cruiser laying in 33 feet of
water. Ruby and I have shot some pretty impressive stuff so far... but we still
have a ways to go before calling it a 'wrap'.
I write this because I am so undecided on which way to go with the final
presentation... should I keep the art prints in color or turn them into black &
white prints. I would like my Journal Readers to voice their opinion...

Should I go with color

Or change it to Black&White

Response from MMR...
"Black and White for Ruby. Much more clear and artistic to
me".

Mermaid Fawna Enters Pageant

Mermaid Fawna entered the Hawaiian Tropic Bikini Pageant in Key West over the
weekend. She didn't win but said the experience was great and she met a nice
local girl also competing - and made a new friend. Fawna will be returning to
Key West for Woman's Fest this weekend as well. Fawna obviously loves Key
West... Maybe it's time to move here permanently Mermaid Fawna.
Wow, is this Mermaid HOT or what!... the judges must have been drunk.

Mermaid Steph... Calls it Quits - To Big
Pine Key

And who can blame her really. Big Pine Key is a One Traffic Light Town. And
Mermaid Stephanie is... well just look at her! - Do you think a woman this young
and beautiful would be satisfied in BPK... NO! Stephanie is now a Key Wester.
Welcome to Paradise Steph...comments
Mermaid Taryn Goes Hollywood

Mermaid Taryn wrote me saying she will be on this season of America's Next Top
Model. Way to go Taryn!!!! Let's hope one of the challenges involves an
underwater shoot like they did in year 2. Taryn would ace that challenge. Taryn
was also invited to test for Playboy Magazine but decided not to. This mermaid
is on her way... hey, Taryn, remember me when you hit the big time!...comments
Mermaid Chimera Earns Movie Role to Die For

Becoming a Mermaid takes training and effort. A Tampa Area film company, MM
Productions, realizes that and contacted Mermaid Chimera offering her a staring
role in a film-short. The script called for the star to drown - convincingly.
From what I hear Chimera nailed the action scene and earned a recurring role in
future films. I see an Oscar in her future. Mermaid Chimera, can I have your
autograph? ...comments

Mermaid Hunter Alum Makes Us Proud
This Magazine Cover Girl is Victoria Lewis

Victoria was living in Key West when she auditioned for me... Right away I knew
she was a true waterbaby; as evidenced by these photos taken in a pool and on a
shipwreck 30 feet deep.

But more importantly I knew from my time working in NYC as a pro commercial
photographer that she could go a lot further in her modeling career than Key
West. We dedicated a week to taking portfolio grade photos and sent them to Ford
Models in Miami. Not surprisingly they wanted a sit down meeting right away. To
make a long story short, Ford Models, NYC, stole her away from Miami and now
Victoria is a top Plus Sized Model here in the US and Abroad...comments

Victoria wrote me recently saying that she just completed an editorial
underwater shoot for a magazine and sent me some photos.

And to think... it all started with Victoria smiling underwater in the Mermaid
Hunter mermaid tank... Way to go Girl!

Introducing a New Feature: Web Spotlight
I do a lot of web surfing and sometimes find great
underwater models and photographers and images that just blow me away. I'm going
to share these finds with you. So, without further adieu I give you... Emily
Dudley.
Emily is a reporter on Billabong TV in Hawaii. She loves to surf and free
dive... Wow! And let's not forget the photographer: Red Mahan, also from Hawaii.
